Our Services
Kaleidoscopic Tours is a book tour company specialising in bookstagram tours and blog tours.
Below is more information on these tours and what we do for them.
We offer a variety of different packages for the tours so we’re sure to have something to suit your needs.
Blog Tour
A blog tour is very similar to a traditional book tour except that everything happens online instead of in bookshops or in schools. The idea of a traditional book tour is to get you and your book known to people who may not have heard of you before. It’s a way of letting people hear about you and your book and to spike their interest. A blog tour does exactly the same thing.
Every blog tour is different but the aim is always the same; to get your book seen.
Blog tours occur on book blogs and instagram and usually consist of a variety of different posts. This could be a handful of reviews written by bloggers, a handful of guest posts written by the author, interviews between blogger and author, or may even be more creative with character guest posts and interviews. All the stops will be in some way relevant to you and your book.
Some authors may also provide a giveaway for the tour as well. This has been known to help the publicity of the tour but is definitely not a requirement for every single tour – and tours without them are still successful.
Bookstagram Tour
A bookstagram tour is the same as a blog tour except that every single stop occurs on instagram.
Every bookstagram tour is different but the aim is always the same; to get your book seen.
As with blog tours, bookstagram tours consist of a variety of different posts. This could be a handful of reviews, a handful of guest posts written by the author, interviews between bookstagramer and author, or may even be more creative with character guest posts and interviews. All the stops will be in some way relevant to you and your book.
Some authors may also provide a giveaway for the tour as well. This has been known to help the publicity of the tour but is definitely not a requirement for every single tour – and tours without them are still successful.
Types of Posts
Reviews are the main type of post that appears on blog tours and bookstagram tours.
Tour participants will receive a free copy of the book for the tour and will be given enough time to read the book. On their tour stop dates, they will then share their thoughts on the book on their scheduled date.
We ask all of our tour participants to only share positive reviews during our tours. We mention that they may share their negative thoughts after a tour is over but as these tours are specifically for helping to promote books, negative reviews are not very beneficial. If a participant dislikes your book, we will ask them to instead share a different post on their tour stops.
All reviews shared on tours can be used for quotes in further promotions.
A guest post is an article that is written by the author on a specific topic.
For blog tours, these are likely to be between 800 – 1500 words in length. For bookstagram tours, these are usually shorter due to the caption limit but are often around 600 words.
The content of the guest post will depend on the topic given. The topics can be chosen by the participants, by the organiser or suggested by the author. Some examples of topics include:
- Top Ten Posts
- Information about the research behind the book
- Captivating moments in or about the book
We can provide example guest posts on request.
An author interview is a written interview that occurs between the author and tour participant.
The tour participant will come with a selection of questions, usually between 5 and 10, which they send to us. We then send the questions in a document to the author.
The author will then answer the questions and send them back to us. These will then be shared as part of the tour for everyone to view.
The questions asked may be specifically about the book that is on the tour, they may be more generic questions, or they may be a combination of both.
We can provide example interview questions on request.
Extracts are small sections of books that are shared on tours as a way to entice readers.
Extracts vary in length depending on whether they are being shared on a blog tour or a bookstagram tour and on the length of the book.
The extracts used in tours are likely either from the start of the book or from exciting moments in the book, however it is important not to include any major spoilers in the extracts.
If required, copyright information can be shared when extracts are posted.
We can provide examples of extracts on request.
A giveaway is when the tour participant offers a prize to their audience during their stop and can be a good incentive in tours as it is a new way of further promoting the book as the tour participants often ask for reposts and shares of their posts to enter.
Giveaways during tours will often be a copy of the book but can also include book vouchers. The prize for the giveaway will be chosen by the author or publisher and it is their responsibility to provide the prizes to the winners.
Giveaways on tours can either be on individual stops or throughout the entire tour.
Further information about giveaways can be given on request.
Tour Assets
For every tour that we organise, we will create a tour banner which can be shared on social media to help promote the tour.
The banners are square and fit nicely on both Instagram and X.
On the banners it will list all of the stops that will be occurring on the tour and when they will be going live. It will also include your book cover and the hashtags that will be used during the tour.
You can find examples of the tour banners by looking through our previous tours.
